A Swedish retailer is also now listing the artwork and track list for Mr. Blue Sky, The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra.  Release date looks like 3 October 2102 for Sweden...

A MESSAGE FROM JEFF...

From Lynn Hoskins at Showdown, a message from Jeff Lynne:

Hi, this is Jeff Lynne, and I've got a bit of news for you!

To anyone who has been waiting for me to release some new recordings...thanks for waiting, you're the best.

I know it's been way too long again, but I'm hoping you'll think it was worth the wait. 

I have two new albums and some other surprises coming shortly! It's true, honestly. (I'm not kidding.) Really!

Both are very unusual and I'm excited to share them with you. It was a real pleasure to work on these projects. They may have taken a few years to complete, but I can tell you it was some of the best musical fun I've ever had.

LONG WAVE, THE NEW ALBUM

The news is slowly starting to break open.  HMV Japan lists what appears to be the new solo album from Jeff Lynne.  The title: Long Wave.  Release date for the SHM-CD version is 26 September 2012 in Japan.

Amazon Germany now listing Long Wave for CD and yes, vinyl on 3 October 2012...

They are also listing an ELO title called Mr. Blue Sky: The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra also for 26 September 2012 also in Japan.  This appears to be a collection of ELO hits re-recorded by Jeff Lynne.

Same thing with Amazon Germany: Mr. Blue Sky is listed for CD and vinyl.

Release dates will presumably vary by country... but wait 'til you hear about Long Wave... There is a twist. When we get an official announcement, we'll link it ASAP.

FOLLOWING THE STATUS QUO

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new 'rockumentary' about Status Quo will feature among others, Brian May of Queen, Paul Weller and Jeff Lynne...

It appears a new batch of deluxe edition, hard-cover book editions of ELO's Out Of The Blue will be unleashed to coincide (but maybe not exactly related) with the release of the new vinyl editions - CD and vinyl coming to the UK August 6th & 7th.
