SECRET MESSAGES BLU-SPEC CD2

HMV Japan and Amazon Japan now listing the 35th Anniversary edition of ELO's Secret Messages on a physical CD for the first time.  The 17-track 2018 edition will be on a Blu-Spec CD2 in Japan only.  Release date: 27 November 2019.

From Out Of Nowhere is the new album from Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and music legend Jeff Lynne, and follows up a remarkable run of sold out European and American tours. Jeff Lynne's ELO, whose music has touched fans deeply across three generations now, has found himself in recent years at the peak of his powers as a songwriter, musician and producer. This new collection features a buoyant title song which opens the ten-track record including the wistful "Help Yourself" to the celebratory "Down Came the Rain" to the churning rocker "One More Time" to the sweet closer, "Songbird." As does its predecessor, 2015's Alone in the Universe, From Out Of Nowhere shows Lynne finding new facets to his signature sound, at once drawing on his globally loved legacy and forging new paths in both sounds and emotions. Once again, he plays nearly every note of the music on guitars, bass, piano, drums, keyboards and vibes, as well as singing all of the lead and layered harmony vocals. Steve Jay, who also engineered the album, adds some percussion.

After winning the vote against two other titles, Run Out Groove Records (part of Warner Music Group) is putting a new Idle Race specialty LP up for pre-orders!  They're pressing it on 180g clear vinyl (a change from the previous announcement) with new artwork and liner notes.

Run Out Groove:
· ROG curated a new collection of Idle Race’s best Liberty-era tracks.

· Pressed on 180g clear vinyl and comes in a single pocket tip-on jacket with new artwork and liner notes.

· Limited and individually numbered based on pre-orders

Run Out Groove Records is gauging interesting in this prospective Idle Race set which would be called Schizophrenic Psychedelia.  They are putting this LP release up against two others, and if it gets enough votes, they will move forward with an actual pressing.

From Run Out Groove:
  • If voted to win, ROG will curate a new collection of Idle Race’s best Liberty-era tracks.
  • Would be pressed on 180g multi-colored vinyl and come in a single pocket tip-on jacket with new artwork and liner notes.
  • Would be limited and individually numbered based on pre-orders
 The time to vote is limited - and whatever e-mail address you provide, Run Out Groove will probably send you e-mails for the rest of your life.  But it would be worth it, wouldn't it??

ASCAP FOUNDERS AWARD - MORE

Pop music icon and leader of ELO Jeff Lynne was feted with the prestigious ASCAP Founders Award for his unparalleled hitmaking talent and a career that spans more than five decades. Famed guitarist and fellow Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Joe Walsh bestowed the honor. Previous recipients include Elvis Costello, Annie Lennox, Sir Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty, Patti Smith, Stevie Wonder and Neil Young. As part of the show, Lynne treated the audience to an unusual stripped-down performance of three of his monster hits, “Telephone Line," "Evil Woman" and “All Over the World."
