Wembley or Bust is a special release commemorating the June 24th, 2017 performance by Jeff Lynne's ELO at the famed Wembley Stadium in London, England. The Wembley or Bust album is available digitally, or physically as a 2 disc audio CD and a 3 LP vinyl package. There are also two Deluxe packages each including the 2 disc CD set, and the concert film on Standard DVD or BLU-RAY DVD. The music is produced by Jeff Lynne, and the concert film is directed by Paul Dugdale.

In Wembley or Bust, we see Jeff and his remarkable musical ensemble filling Wembley Stadium with one of the greatest rock & roll spectacles of all time, complete with bells, whistles and spaceships in front of a 60,000 capacity crowd. As Jeff says himself 'It's the best time I ever had in music... It is beyond anything I could have imagined'. More popular than ever, Jeff Lynne's ELO have always been known for their epic live shows and with a distinct style that seamlessly and innovatively blends rock, pop and classical music.

The Wembley or Bust audio and film includes performances of many of the most beloved songs of our lifetime, from vintage ELO classics like "Mr. Blue Sky," "Livin' Thing" and "Evil Woman" to "Do Ya" from his days with The Move, "Handle With Care" which he recorded with the Traveling Wilburys, right through "When I Was A Boy" from his latest ELO masterpiece, Alone In The Universe.

Jeff Lynne is widely regarded as one of the greatest record producers in music history. In addition to his storied career in ELO, Lynne was a co-founder and member of The Travelling Wilburys together with Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, George Harrison and Tom Petty as well as a producer and collaborator with some of the biggest names in music including The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh, and most recently, Bryan Adams.

Turn To Stone is available to buy now from AppleAmazon, and 7Digital.

If the track list is true, it's the entire concert.  Release date according to Amazon and Apple: 17 November 2017.

I can imagine this may be the only good news many of us had all week.

TOM PETTY

It was already a horrifying Monday.  Most of us in the States woke up to news that a gunman shot more than 500 people at a country music concert, killing (at last check) 58.  Then came the other sucker punch.

I personally knew several people who packed into the Hollywood Bowl to see Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers play barely a week ago.  Now, in the blink of an eye since then, a world without Tom Petty is a reality.  That is something I never, ever thought was conceivable.

I can't really add much to the enormous chorus of tributes and memories about how much Tom's music meant to us.  As far as I'm concerned, not much will ever beat Tom's poetry meshed with Jeff Lynne's record craft.

#RIPTomPetty.  And thank you.

MORE ON GIVE MORE LOVE FROM RINGO

Ringo Starr's longtime engineer, Bruce Sugar, talks to Billboard about making Give More Love including Jeff Lynne's involvement.  Jeff plays on a new version of Back Off Boogaloo created from an old tape containing one of the first recordings of the song.
“Ringo's idea initially was to get Jeff Lynne to take that tape – it was like a minute long -- and turn that into something. Jeff took it and sent us something back, then I told Ringo let me work with it. I had to manipulate the tempos and do all the Pro Tools editing you do these days and kind of married it to what Jeff did. Then Ringo played drums on it and we got Nathan East to put a bass on it. The front piece is from that original quarter-inch tape. There's a little bit in the middle from the quarter inch tape that I put in there. The rest of it is all new with Ringo singing. With the background vocals, Ringo said to get some of the vocals from the original record he did with George and put that in it, too, so it would kind of be three different generations of Ringo on the record.
