ELO founder Jeff Lynne paid tribute to Edwards yesterday, saying: “I still think about him on stage in his woollen balaclava playing his cello solo with an orange. Now that was pretty original. Mike was a great cellist but most of all a real gentleman.”News links:

And if Jeff didn't make a public statement about Mike Edwards, somebody would say, "So Jeff Lynne doesn't say anything again after not making any statement when Kelly Groucutt died last year!"
I think Mike and Kelly and are two waaaaay different scenarios.
Things must have been pretty bad between Kelly & Jeff, for there to have been no tribute at all. Although I don't really know or understand the business of what went on between the two of them, I'm still dismayed why they couldn't find a way to make up somehow.
It seems a shame really, considering Kelly was such a nice guy & a popular musician, as well as Mike also was.
