HMV and Amazon in Japan are now showing pre-orders for a (small) fresh batch of ELO vinyl.   It appears Eldorado, A New World Record and Out Of The Blue will be re-issued on clear vinyl and are on the release schedule for December 18.  The listing suggests they are coming from Sony UK. Amazon Japan now confirming an additional track on their editions of Alone In The Universe.  The deluxe edition Blu-Spec CD2 will contain 13 tracks.

After playing a classic ELO track this morning on BBC Radio 2, Chris Evans announced the new single from Jeff Lynne's ELO will get its first play tomorrow morning on The Breakfast Show.

THE BEATLES REVISIT '1'

The Beatles have announced today they have re-vamped and upgraded the wildly successful hits collection "1" - and will include pretty much every Beatles music video including some alternates.

The 2 Blu-Ray/1CD and 2 DVD/1CD sets titled '1+' will contain the videos for the Jeff Lynne-produced Free As A Bird and Real Love.

The Beatles website has the complete rundown - and a trailer.

In addition, the videos were painstakingly restored and there are new stereo and DTS surround sound mixes by Giles Martin and Sam Okell.

Paul Sinclair from Super Deluxe Edition writes that Jeff Lynne and Steve Jay have remixed Free As A Bird and Real Love for this set.

Release date: November 6, 2015.

LIVE IN HYDE PARK

So, it appears the North American edition of Jeff Lynne's ELO Live In Hyde Park has suffered the same fate of ELO Live- The Early Years from Eagle Rock; Roll Over Beethoven is edited out.  If you want the full concert, it looks like you have to buy the UK edition.

Also, the only digital versions we've been able to find is from iTunes.  Live in Hyde Park (again with ROB edited out from the North American version) and Mr. Blue Sky are separate titles available to download.

It looks like ELO will join others artists in Legacy's Box Set Series.  If it's anything like Cheap Trick's (for example) released last year, it looks to be just a mish-mash of previously released material.  We'll wait and see - no track list yet, but it's 3 discs and retails for $21.98.  Release date is October 16, 2015.
